The path to completion was demanding, yet we wished to share the intricate details of this journey with you.
Below is the story of our atelier’s dedication to this particular piece.

An Order in February

The journey began in February.
Commissioned by a client who valued exceptional quality above all else and was prepared to wait for the finest craftsmanship, our work commenced.

Sourcing the Materials

The focal point of the design is a wool lace, an exquisite material that is increasingly rare today. Sourced directly during our travels in Europe, it is a fabric of particular significance to us.

Finding the perfect silk organza for the underpinning also proved a challenge, as we sought a very specific texture and hue.
Following countless leads and visiting numerous suppliers, we finally discovered the ideal silk organza.

The silhouette was kept intentionally understated, allowing the natural beauty of the materials to take precedence.

Cutting — The Art of Pattern Matching

The cutting phase required meticulous precision to align the wool lace pattern. Guided by the cutter’s reassuring words, ‘It will be perfect,’ the panels were successfully resolved.

Toile and Fitting

The fittings are the cornerstone of bespoke tailoring. With our client’s kind cooperation, we conducted three fittings: the first in cotton toile, followed by two in the actual fabric. Throughout this exacting process, our artisan secured the wool lace to the silk organza stitch by painstaking stitch.

Six Decades of Tailoring, and the Perfect Buttons

The sewing was entrusted to a master jacket maker with sixty years of experience. Balancing a soft, feminine silhouette with flawless structural integrity, her expert hand created a piece of breathtaking beauty.

The buttons, too, required careful consideration.
In consultation with a specialist luxury button maker, we commissioned a bespoke set of a slightly smaller scale. Our design discussions with them are always a pleasure.
The hand-worked buttonholes were similarly refined, completed only after several trials to ensure the perfect finish.

The True Meaning of Bespoke

It was a long journey, but seeing our client’s delight made it incredibly rewarding. Reflecting on the process, we feel deeply privileged to have undertaken this commission.

In an era of mass-produced fashion, we constantly contemplate the unique value of bespoke tailoring and the true nature of quiet luxury.
